Lakewood is a fascinating city located just west of Cleveland on the shores of Lake Erie. Lakewood is also noted for its trendy shops and sidewalk cafes. There are a some new town home/condominium construction projects in the center of Lakewood that are upscale and in the heart of the happenings. Bars, shops and restaurants are walk able.
Condos such as Rockport Square on Detroit, the Rosewood, on Detroit offers luxury and ease being near parks, recreation and open floor plans. Prices range from High $100's to mid $200's. Then there's The Cliffs located off Sloane Avenue terraced into the Rocky River Valley. 40 high end homes on the marina. Prices are in the mid $500's
Schools in Lakewood have always ranked high. There are many elementary schools all within walking distance for students. There has never been bussing in Lakewood. Millions of dollars have been put into rehabbing elementary and middle schools such as Hayes, Harrison, Harding and Garfield. Some completely torn down and rebuilt. Lakewood High school is one of the largest high schools in the entire Cleveland area. Sports and trades are available and the facilities are state of the art.
There's a new YMCA in Lakewood costing $8mil+ on Detroit and there are many great public pools, parks, recreation and activities. Free concerts in the summer along with one of the best fireworks displays in the whole area. Lakewood is truly a wonderful place to call home.
