Lakewood Ohio Real Estate - Featured Lakewood Homes for Sale

Welcome to LakewoodLakewood is a fascinating city located just west of Cleveland on the shores of Lake Erie. Lakewood is also noted for its trendy shops and sidewalk cafes. This superb community also offers stately homes on tree-lined streets; it boasts lovely lakefront parks, excellent educational facilities and is minutes from downtown Cleveland. With a mix of affordable and high-end housing, Lakewood is a community proud of its diversity.

Housing in Lakewood varies but it's primarily an older home community. Homes from the late 1800's into the early mid 1900's. There are classic Victorian homes in Lakewood with character such as stained glass, original hardwood, high ceilings and large rooms. There are also bungalows and ranch style homes in Lakewood also. Lakewood is popularly known for its two-four family unit homes. There are plenty of modern rental units in Lakewood which makes it a great place to start out. Land lots in Lakewood are typically for the most part under a quarter of an acre.

Lakewood Cliff ProjectHigh rise condominiums and apartments on Edgewater and the shores of Lake Erie, called the Gold Coast offers fabulous views, amenities and an easy commute to downtown Cleveland. Some of the buildings like the Winton Place, The Lake House, Edgewater Towers, Berkshire, Waterford, Marine Towers East, line the lake and offer affordable and high-end 1-3 bedroom living ($30,000 +). There are a some new town home/condominium construction projects in the center of Lakewood that are upscale and in the heart of the happenings. Bars, shops and restaurants are walk able.

Condos such as Rockport Square on Detroit, the Rosewood, on Detroit offers luxury and ease being near parks, recreation and open floor plans. Prices range from High $100's to mid $200's. Then there's The Cliffs located off Sloane Avenue terraced into the Rocky River Valley. 40 high end homes on the marina. Prices are in the mid $500's

Schools in Lakewood have always ranked high. There are many elementary schools all within walking distance for students. There has never been bussing in Lakewood. Millions of dollars have been put into rehabbing elementary and middle schools such as Hayes, Harrison, Harding and Garfield. Some completely torn down and rebuilt. Lakewood High school is one of the largest high schools in the entire Cleveland area. Sports and trades are available and the facilities are state of the art.

Lakewood CoastThere's a new YMCA in Lakewood costing $8mil+ on Detroit and there are many great public pools, parks, recreation and activities. Free concerts in the summer along with one of the best fireworks displays in the whole area. Lakewood is truly a wonderful place to call home.
