2009 UPDATE - I did not attend this year but many have. I've received lots of emails asking about the finalists and new information for this years Cleveland Idol. I know Fox8 has little to no coverage on it, so if you have a video, vote for best contestant, opinion or experience, feel free to share it here in the comment section. My website seems to be the landing place for people interested in this years event. Send me the videos or photos and I'll post them here. At least those looking to discuss it or those that have participated can have a place to post. Email meI attended and participated in Cleveland Idol on February 24th, 2008 and witnessed some really great auditions and talent from all over the Cleveland area. I had a nice laugh and chat with "The fan of Clay Aiken." I decided to post a blog topic about it due to the fact that there's nothing on the web covering Cleveland Idol 2008 and I know there were pictures/videos and contestants that would like some opinions or updates.
Stacey Frey, the Fox 8 morning news reporter was the Cleveland Idol emcee on the 24th and she was great. She kept the crowd going and had an upbeat personality during the three hour event. Thanks to Ford and Fox 8 for the fun, Cleveland Idol T-shirt and free tickets to the Auto show (Which is the second largest in the country.) I am also a contestant for Cleveland Idol, I auditioned on Saturday Night, with Robyn Swaboda as the Emcee. Just love her!
My name is Kimberly Pyles and I agree, there should be more posted about this event! I was contestant #21 on Saturday Night and sang "Could've Been" by Tiffany. I have been a singer most of my life, as was very happy to perform in this event.

I received a question about Cleveland Idol in an email...
"who won? is there a way to see the list of people and where they placed?"
There is no placement and there will be one winner from each of the nine days they're having the auditions. All nine winners will be announced on March 3rd. Again, their website has nothing on it about Idol...but they want you to buy a Ford!

Hello! I recently attended Cleveland Idol on the 29th. I have been waiting for the finalists to be posted on the Fox website, but they are taking a while. I have a video of myself and the singers before me, but unfortunately I have no way of uploading them to my computer. Anyways, it was nice to find a webpage that actually shows interest in the event.
It was quite a frustrating morning trying to find out the finalists. Fox 8 kept encouraging you to visit their site to see the finalists but nothing was there!
I'm glad at least we know now for those who were curious. I don't think the videos work though. Have they worked for anyone?
Yes, I have been able to access all videos. I was there with #606. He did do a good job. I was #609. I enjoyed my chance and would have loved to place, but it is all in someone else's hands this time.

Well I figured out the video didn't work in FireFox so I switched over to IE.

I am apalled at how hard it is to find the finalist of this contest..going to Fox 8 sight they really don't show you how to see them.it is like a puzzle..not much coverage they could of made this event a big one, instead they do 30 second shots. They should have the finalist perform a whole song.like on the morning show..anyway I was there sunday and the 9th finalist was in a league of her own ..she hit the high notes, walked the stage with confidence,had a smooth sultry tone and had .. as Scott the american idol contestant judge said she was smoking.. she gives you a tingley feeling watching her confidence on stage..AND SHE LOOKS LIKE ONE..that would be great to see someone become an idol that actually looks the part.
